Maximize Joy
'Then Ezra said to them, “Go [your way], eat the rich festival food, drink the sweet drink, and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be worried, for the joy of the L ord is your strength and your stronghold.” ' Nehemiah 8:10
Encouragement to Find Strength in Joy
- 1. "Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength":
- a. Grief vs. Joy: The people are told not to grieve because the joy that comes from the Lord provides strength.
- b. Source of Strength: Joy in the Lord empowers and sustains believers, particularly in challenging times.
- Philippians 4:4: "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!"
- Isaiah 12:2: "Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation."
